KIGHT CENTER FOR EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES WINS FEFPA AWARD

(Maitland) - The Educational Division at Matern Professional Engineering, Inc., (MPE) is happy to announce Indian River Community College’s (IRCC), The Kight Center for Emerging Technologies was awarded first place for Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association, Inc., (FEFPA) 2007 Architectural Showcase for Community Colleges.
MPE worked with Florida Architects, Inc.
(FLA) throughout the initial planning, design and construction of the facility which opened in August 2005. The four-story facility features a 70-ft. atrium with specialty lighting features, and serves as the Network Operations Center (NOC) for IRCC and its 4 satellite campuses. The $14M facility is designed to accommodate curriculum and program growth with the ever evolving technology to support students, faculty, the community and business partners as a technology rich educational hub with worldwide connectivity.
MPE has provided a multitude of engineering services at IRCC on a wide range of projects for over 15 years. MPE has also worked with Florida Gulf Coast University, (FGCU) Florida Atlantic University, (FAU) the University of Central Florida, (UCF) and Seminole Community College, (SCC).
