Matern’s dedicated education team is not only focused on K-12 facilities, but they are also well versed in the engineering needs required by our higher education clients. We understand the unique needs of College and University Systems. Modern technology has paved the way for distance learning, as well as a multitude of simulation labs and even more advanced medical training facilities. We also know there is a large challenge of efficiently maintaining buildings that are in perpetual use, and ensuring student safety and comfort while on campus. To compliment the ever changing needs of higher education campuses, Matern has a Fire Protection Engineer, RCDD Engineer, Ice Thermal Storage Specialist and Energy Specialist on staff. These core individuals constantly seek new, innovative ways to make campus buildings last longer, save owners money and lessen the environmental footprint of the campus. We have completed projects for our higher education clients ranging from chemistry lab hood and fan replacements to classrooms buildings to large partnership buildings. Some of our higher education clients are Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Indian River State College, Lake Sumter Community College, Seminole State College, St. Johns River Community College, and University of Central Florida.
